My first reaction was "Angel Nrbula" as the halo looked like wings

It looks like a flying powdered-sugar-covered-beignet from the New Orleans French Quarter! The Beignet Nebula!

Most of the spots in the image are cosmic rays striking the CCD, not stars. Processors usually clean them up and leave just the stars but that didn't happen this time.Justabiologist wrote:What is up with that background star field?
Just call me "geck" because "zilla" is like a last name.

Kinda looks like a Beignet to me. I also thought Ghost Nebula.

It looks like a snow cloud to me so how about the `snow cloud nebula'

Omm actually, ima pretty sure most of the 'trails' are actually galaxies, not cosmic rays. The odd color is because the image was overall adjusted to give the cool nebula a blue look.geckzilla wrote:Most of the spots in the image are cosmic rays striking the CCD, not stars.
