Only 61 more pages of marshmallows, pillows, flying squirrels, and ravioli to go and this thread will tie with the Strange Streak thread, Asterisk's long time reigning champion for replies. Strange Streak has been #1 since 2004.
Note that Strange Streak took 3 days to fill up 25 Asterisk pages.

What is the record # of pages for one day (and/or the first day)?
This one, in fact, by far.

Just call me "geck" because "zilla" is like a last name.

I too think it should be called "The Pillow Nebula" (although my daughter thinks it should be called the "Brain Nebula" as she feels it looks like a brain).

Also:
Ares Nebula, as it was hung on an oak in a sacred to Ares grove by Phrixus before Jason took it.

My first thought was Popcorn nebula - I read through this thread and notice it's been suggested, so I agree.......

Then I had a good stare at the image, and what I see is a Poodle's head inside a bigger Poodle's head. So I'd like to offer:

The Poodle Nebula.

looks like a flying squirrel viewed from below by spotlight at night... head is unseen, though; variant of "Pteromyini" maybe...? To see what I mean, follow this link before google changes the images... https://www.google.com/search?q=squirre ... IsBEOkTMAs

I like the flying squirrel but pillow works also. I don't remember ever hearing of a flying squirrel nebula but I'll bet there is already something out there with the word pillow in it, so let's go with the flying squirrel.

How about the Compass Rose Nebula? It sure looks like one to me (which someone else has also suggested). (Unless there's a nebula out there already assigned such a moniker. And I think Cocoon Nebula has already been taken, heh.) Flying Squirrel would be my second choice for a name.

I'll bet there isn't. So there is still a case to be made for "The Pillow."
