The comets, these beautiful objects in our solar system, are often encountered with
other objects in the sky, in this case, the comet C/2012 F6 Lemmon has met with the
open cluster M52 and the Bubble nebula

Star HD189733, M27-3 Panel Mosaic

Post by Efrain Morales » Sun Jul 14, 2013 4:04 pm

A Three Panel Mosaic of M27 "The Dumbbell Nebula" far right and the star (tag) HD 189733 with its exoplanet is at far left on July 13th, 05:11ut. The Exoplanet HD 189733b is slightly larger compare to Jupiter and orbits its star HD 189733 that is 63 light years distance from us in the constellation Vulpecula. On the recent data on HD189733b its surface temperature is over 1000 C / 1800 F degrees with winds of over 7,000km/hr / 4,350 mph its atmosphere is of a deep blue color and is produced by silicate droplets, which scatter blue light. that part of Kansas.

The joy of astronomy!

Under the pristine dark skies of Mt Grammos Greece, amateur astronomers from all around the country, gathered to enjoy the splendors of the night sky. I was lucky enough to make this image of gamma Cygni with the proper name Sadr and its neighborhood hydrogen nebula. Its so nice to have more that 350 observers of the night sky in one of the most remote places and share with them the magnificent views of astronomical objects which seem to be closer in such good conditions!

The image was made with a Takahashi FSQ106 and a SBIG STF8300 CCD camera mounted on a Super Polaris DX german equatorial mount.

NGC 7380: Conjuring the Wizard Nebula in Cepheus For a full resolution version please click here.
This is my first-ever all-narrowband image, shot through Ha, SII, and OIII filters. The raw frames were taken over 7 nights between August 25 and September 2 2012. I finally did the image processing over the past few weeks, and after first trying to work with the Hubble palette, I adopted another common palette that I think produces a more natural result in this case, taking SII as red, Ha as orange, and OIII as light blue. More precisely, I mapped the colors using the linear combinations Red=0.8*SII+0.2*Ha, Green=0.2*Ha+0.8*OIII, and Blue=OIII, while desaturating the stars as much as possible. Here are a few more details, and thanks for looking ;).
Telescope: CDK17 on a Paramount ME; Camera: Apogee U16M with Astrodon 3nm bandpass filters; Image capture: ACP controlling The SkyX, MaxIm DL, and Focusmax; Off-axis guiding: Astrodon MOAG and Starlight Xpress Lodestar camera; Image processing: PixInsight and CCDInspector; Exposures: 15+ hours total, Ha=340 mins (1X1 binning), SII=320 mins (2X2), OIII=260 mins (2X2), Subs=20mins.

The eyes of spiders and stars
Copyrights: Dani Caxete
Sometimes in our nighttime observations, to illuminate the field with the flashlight, we have seen little lights to shine like stars. You have to try to approach off suddenly.
This is due to reflection of the eyes of the spiders and their effect retroreflector which reflects light regardless of the angle of incidence.
On Saturday, I was able to photograph a Lycosidae swamp beside the Tower of Abraham (Toledo, Spain). Background summer sky and the center of the Milky Way.
