The anti-tail of the comet Panstarrs
Title: The anti-tail of the comet Panstarrs
Object/Date: C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) @ 2013-05-10
Tech data: GSO 8" f/4 + Canon EOS 350D (1×210 sec. at ISO 400)
Description: At the begining the month of May 2013 an anti-tail started to become evident on the comet C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS), a narrow tail that aim at Sun (toward left in the image); this type of tail only is seeable when the Earth is near to comet orbital plane.

C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS)
32 minute exposure (16 x 120s)
EOS 7D, ISO 6400
FL = 135mm, f/5.66
2013.05.27 04:03 UT
Imaged within a few hours of the Earth crossing the comet's orbital plane, so the antitail is very prominent. From the comet nucleus to the point where the antitail goes off the image is 4.5°.

The comet Panstarrs under Polaris
Title: The comet Panstarrs under Polaris
Object/Date: C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) @ 2013-05-27
Tech data: Sigma 35-135 lens at 100mm. f/4 + Canon EOS 350D (4×180 sec. at ISO 1600)
Description: May 27, 2013. Concurring with the approaching of the comet C/2011 L4 PANSTARRS to Polaris (at upper center), Earth crossed the comet orbital plane. This perspective allowed to observe a long and inusual tail formed by dust particles which were left behind on this plane. In the image it can see a faint normal tail of dust of nearly 1º long toward right, and toward left, a long anti-tail of more than 6º passing near open cluster NGC 188. I have inserted a Moon image at same scale of photo as reference.

Object/Date: C/2012 F6 (Lemmon) @ 2013-05-21
Tech data: Takahashi FSQ-106ED Refractor + SBIG ST-8300C (3×180 sec. at Bin 1x1)
Description: The comet C/2012 F6 (Lemmon) after rivalize with comet C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) on Southern Hemisphere sky and after surpass your perihelion, began to be observable from Northern Hemisphere during May 2013. In this image on day 21 of this month, in spite of the comet falled your brightness until 7 magnitude, still showed a long gas tail at least 1º long and a dust tail about 20' long leaving your gassy coma of turquoise color.
