He did!

He didn't! That is the 'so-called name'. I want the Henry Draper catalogue number!

I think she is referring to a "real" HD 140283 ; a very fast star indeed. This is very informative. I had not heard about it until my search :D

How about something very simple from a new guy on the block. It's more fun solving than coming up with a good question.

In my journey around the solar system I'm not getting from point to point as quickly as others but I am heading toward a "larger" rendezvous this time. Where am I going? (Glad I don't have to deal with the math)

No - that's too far out on the horizon. Somewhere in the middle lies the correction. Mythologically speaking we are talking very fertile ground for new research there. :D :D

Jupiter? Europa? Io?

(Hey - there aren't that many large bodies in the solar system. If I keep guessing, I should get it right sooner or later...)

Leave it to me to not read all the instructions properly. I didn't notice to "large" bodies part. Sometimes my brain is a dwarf..

Europa and the Bull. Painting by Nöel-Nicolas Coypel
Well, mythologically speaking Europa was fertile. And who knows if her namesake is, too?

The Bull, by the way, was Jupiter.

You got it. Ann had the right idea but was my target was smaller and less ferile than hers. Europa would be a fine target too. I hope I get to see us heading there in my time. Speaking of which, time for a new one bystander. :)

We've been to Europa already. I will defer to Ann. It seems she has some place she wants to go.

Too bad ; she has some very nice graphics. Where does one learn such a skill? For one educated way before code was invented I would love to be able grasp it. Bystander - I think you are staying in the neighborhood with this one. 8-)

I couldn't work out how to post graphics, either, when I first joined the forum.

The img button works to display a link to a graphic when the link is directly to file that ends in the 'extension' .jpg (or .gif and/or something else that I can't remember at present!)

When you find an image that you want to show here, if you click on the image and then select 'View image' that will usually take you to a page that just has the image and no text. Save that URL from the browser address bar and paste it into your post here as I've done below. (To see the innards of my post, or anyone's, click the QUOTE button at the top right of the post)

Image

By the way, if the image is big, use the img2 button, and that will show a reduced size image.

I like to suggest that if the person who got the correct answer doesnt give
information when he or she will post a question, that we wait 24 hours.
If the 24 hours are over since giving the correct answer that is confirmed before as such,
and still not posted a question, others can take the opportunity to come with a question.
