Newton and May - lookalikes?
On the 700th edition of The Sky at Night, Sir Martin Rees, the Astronomer Royal, said that he thought that Newton and May look alike.
Astrophysicist and part-time musician, Dr Brian May Warden of the Royal Mint and amateur scientist, Sir Isaac Newton

"In those rare moments of total quiet with a dark sky, I again feel the awe that struck me as a child. The feeling is utterly overwhelming as my mind races out across the stars. I feel peaceful and serene."

I think that you have your pictures labeled wrong, Brian May doesn't have a cleft in his chin.MargaritaMc wrote:What do you think?
Although Dr. May may be "part-time" now, as the lead guitarist for Queen, I wouldn't have called him a part-time musician.
Last year he was rated as the second best guitarist of all time by a Guitar World fan poll.

So, yes, he continues to list being Queen guitarist first on his YouTube channelAbout Brian May Official Channel
Brian May's Official YouTube Channel - Queen guitarist, animal welfare, astrophysicis, 3-D photography.
I can't find the source, but I recall reading him saying that he and Patrick Moore were alike in that they were both astronomers and musicians. Both men are high on my list of people I admire hugely and they shared a delightful self-deprecating sense of humour.
Only second best? Who was rated first?bystander wrote ....he was rated as second best guitarist of all time..

I think Brian May has better hair. Newton's hair was a wig.
But I agree that Brian May is a great guitarist, and I loved the band Queen. It's nice that Brian May takes such an interest in astronomy, too.
Maybe Brian May is even more like William Herschel, musician-turned-(great)-astronomer?
There can hardly be any doubt that Brian May looks nicer than William Herschel did while this portrait was made of him, though!

"Newton's hair was a wig. "
I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!,
Re Herschel - I've not heard any of his music, do you know it?

I find it somewhat funny that I keep having to ban a spam bot who insists that this thread is a great place to advertise for male wigs.
Just call me "geck" because "zilla" is like a last name.
