I just have to post this video about a cat that walked 190 miles to get home! Her paws were full of wounds and scars and she barely had any claws left, when she was rescued about a mile away from her home and then returned there thanks to her microchip!

I didn't know that... you could crochet a police car. A Finnish woman has done just that. Here you can see pictures of how she did it. Don't expect to be able to read the explanations, however, and don't expect me to translate them, because they are all in Finnish.

Love those upside down question marks and exclamation marks, Margarita! :D

So... WHY should anyone crochet a police car?

Don't know. But why should anyone climb Mount Everest? Because it's there. Why should anyone go to the Moon? Because it's there (and there was this Cold War business too, never mind). Why should anyone crochet a police car? Ummmm... because one such car ought to exist, and now it does? Now it's there.

Well, having at first not realised that I was reading a translation into Swedish (I've not used Google translate before - WOW  ... And so so much more convenient than putting a fish in one's ear...) I changed it into English and read this amazing lady's project. What a wonderful eccentric - and some equally marvellous, loopy people financed her! My admiration for the Finns now knows no bounds.

What happens if the wool of the police car imitation gets wet? Does it shrink?
Hmmm maybe I should ask XKCD?!

Sesame Street Cookie Monster stole in Germany the Leibniz metallic big cookie of the Bahlsen Company, a traditional bakery. A letter written by
newspaper cuts says (in a childish style in original): I got the cookie, you want it. You have to give the children clinic one day in February cookies for free, but the
one with milkchocolate, not dark chocolate and not the without chocolate for the kids in oncology ward, or it wont go. And for the
animal shelter 1000 Euro donation, instead giving the money as reward finding the metallic cookie. [...] or the cookie will go to Oscar's trash bin.
REally! If you did what demand I write again to you where to find the golden cookie. The Cookie Monster.

The Cookie Monster added a picture of him with the golden cookie. While the public thinks its cute and funny, police takes that extremely serious because its blackmail. :lol2:

That happens to my friend's water in the bottom of his refrigerator. Apparently if it happens when you don't want it to it's actually kind of irritating. haha

I'm surprised. I make supercooled water for science demonstrations, and it's pretty hard to make in an ordinary freezer because the compressor vibrations typically cause the water to freeze. I have to suspend the bottles inside the freezer on elastic cords to isolate them enough that they can supercool. It never occurred to me just to leave the bottles outside on cold nights, though!

I have done this many times with regular bottled water and 45 min in the freezer. Leave it undisturbed then remove it and shake or swirl it
