In America, in the South Pacific there is a climate phenomenon called
" The child "
Researchs are based on sea temperature differential to predict the
" Weather ".
But it happens that the sea temperature is not a reliable parameter. There are
other variables that are not observed.
Almost always fail the diagnostic about the " Weather "

Despite your name, I always assumed you lived here on the Earth. Now that I've seen the view from your window, I realize that you actually live on one of the planets explored in the original Star Trek series. Moonlady, indeed!

Oh I knew it, the alien abduction was real!!! But they brought me back to earth! :(

The purple effect is caused by my cell phone, where the setting can be chosen like sunshine, clouds, bulb light etc...I took at first the picture in my room, after that I
went to the floor and I switched to sunshine mode, the direction is NNW and the light was really bright, since my eyes were used to my dark room, because I had
not opened my black curtains....long story for a picture :lol2:

this morning at 4 o'clock I looked outside when I woke up, just a habit, and I have a sight to east with a big hill. I saw at the top of the hill a bright planet rising.

Left brain cell just woke up: Oh cool, clear blue sky!
right brain cell wakes up by the noise of left brain cell: beautiful color!

left brain cell: there is a bright spott rising!
right brain cell: beautiful dawn!

left brain cell: it's so bright, it's Venus!
right brain cell: ok, be quiet now!

left brain cell: mmmmh where is my binocular!
right brain cell: give up and enjoy the sight!

left brain cell: ok, I need my entry level telescope! There is something wrong!
right brain cell: it is beautiful and shiny there is nothing wrong!

left brain cell: damm how do I put the tripod on my window sill without falling down from the fifth floor!
right brain cell: it's your problem, you are the rational one!

left brain cell: wait, there is a plane coming toward my direction, it just appeared at the top of the hill! It is soooo bright, but oh, there must be the other planet, what the heck happened with...
right brain cell: oh bon voyage dear ppl in the plane!

left brain cell: oh it is soooo bright and and I need help here! ALERT TO ALL LEFT BRAIN CELLS! WAKE UP TO ANALYSE!
right brain cell: oh scream louder, they didn't hear you in Venezuela!

Left brain cell: glad I could wake up another left brain cell!
second left brain cell: Stupid! looks like Venus to me, not a plane, you woke me up for this?!
first left brain cell: I did :?
second left brain cell: and that "Venus" is Jupiter!
first left brain cell: ah yes, indeed know I see it too!

right brain cell: I wish I could take a picture of this beautiful scene!

All three brain cells went to sleep after that.

27 degrees! Celsius! :D :D :D

We haven't had it so warm since - well, since late May, I think. Or maybe not since last year!

Same temperature here. Almost unheard of. Utterly miserable. Can't go outside, can't do anything. Can't wait until winter.

We must both be aliens but from different worlds Chris. I'm not at all comfortable until the temperature gets up past the mid 20s, and then I can begin to shed some layers of clothing. I don't get down to short-sleeved T-shirts until it's close to 30°C, and shorts are definitely for 30+ weather.

And I stop doing anything involving significant exercise if the temperature gets above 18 or 20C. If it gets below 10C I put on a flannel shirt. If it gets below 0C, a sweater. Below -10C or so I drag out a coat.

It's a good thing there are lots of climates available on the Earth. Not so good that they're all changing so fast, though.

I'm with you, Rob. There's a reason why I hate winter - I can't put on enough clothes to get warm.

I think you and I sympathize, Rob, because we both come from cold countries. Consider the hottest and coldest temperatures ever recorded in Sweden. The hottest temperature is 38 degrees Celsius from 1947, and the coldest is 52.6 degrees Celsius from 1966. If that doesn't mean a lot to you, start from 32F, the temperature where water freezes. Think of it like this - the record hot temperature in Sweden is only about two thirds as many degrees above 32F as the lowest temperature is below 32F. 38 degrees Celsius, our record heat, corresponds to a slight fever in the human body. It's not serious, so you don't have to go to hospital.

Swedish homes always have good central heating and isolation to withstand the many months of cold weather. Swedish homes don't have air conditioning to withstand hot summer temperatures, however!

That looks like a cartoon of me as a kid. My mother had to push me out the door in winter, I hated it so.

Speaking of weather we had a rare thunder storm last night, a real boomer, with briefly very heavy rain. It cooled things down so much I had to put on a parka this morning. (Just kidding.)

IN and Southern MI has been unbelievably dry this year. Mass droughts. Tons of farmers have lost their crops because of lack of rain. Fireworks ban all over the place meant no Fireworks on the 4th :(.
Everyday when we hear there is a 30% chance of rain everyone gets really excited. We actually went 6 weeks without a single drop of rain. Very depressing

Nice! But I spent all day indoors, going with friends to a small indoor zoo to see, among other animals, lemurs, meerkats and sharks. I liked it! :D Then we went shopping at a big shopping center - oh well... :|

Yay, we have a cold front coming. It's supposed to get down to a chilling 100 ℉ for the high Sunday. A record setting 112 ℉ today, the second highest temperature ever recorded here. We've had over two weeks of triple digits.

Yaa! We got .05" overnight; first measurable rain in 81 days! (I looked it up!) It looks like we could get some more; so I'm hoping!
bystander; we get plenty of those 100F days up here; so I hope you don't let them 113F days go North; and I hope you have good AC! :|

For you triple digit Roastee's, how about some surfing in Arctic waters?
The water tempreture is just a few degrees above freezing.
Pay attention to picture 10, when you get there.

113 F today, tying an all time record set back during the Dust Bowl days of 1936. Set a record high overnight low temperature of 84 F. That followed 2 days of 112 F. 5 major wildfires broke out today across the state. With only a slight chance of rain Saturday night and Sunday morning, not much relief in sight. Still looking forward to that cold front that's supposed to lower the daytime high to a mere 100.

We had rain, yesterday (not enough), and the temp fell > 20° in less than an hour, but back in the cooker (triple digits) today and tomorrow.
