ISS pass over Lubbock, TX. It emerged from Earth's shadow from the north (left), passed very close to Albireo in Cygnus at center, then faded quickly into the Earth's shadow again to the west.

Wow stunning image of one of my all time favourite planetary nebulae! I think this is the first ever amateur image that shows the halo type structure, which is easily revealed with Ha. Did you already know about the halo and is that why you included Ha? Or did you just randomly decide to include Ha to see if it would show more detail?Wolfgang wrote:Ghost of Jupiter

The image below is an 11 frame mosaic of IR data in the area of the North American nebula, NGC7000. The data was downloaded from the WISE archive and processed in PixInsight and Photoshop.
http://tas.astroshots.net/gallery2/main ... temId=9261
A small animation (500kb) showing the transition from this IR data to an HaLRGB image of this area can be seen at: http://tas.astroshots.net/gallery2/main ... temId=9269 while a larger (11 mb) version of this transition can be seen at: http://tas.astroshots.net/gallery2/main ... temId=9264
This publication makes use of data products from the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, which is a joint project of the University of California, Los Angeles, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory/California Institute of Tech.

Re: Recent Submissions: 2012 June
A leap second
I was exiting watching the screen to see the positive leap second, I was expecting to see 30 June 23:59:60
After 30 June 2012 23:59:59
the clock get to 31 June 00:00:00
and then get back to 30 June 00:00:00
and then the clock get to 01 July 00:00:01
Is this a leap second or a Lead day in a second??
