Tilvi -- good post. Strange images like this should indeed be discussed!
I agree with Dan, however,that this appears to me to be a laser-- possibly coming out of one of the Keck domes. Looking at the FITS image helps. One clue is that the line does not appear to fade as it goes down towards the horizon.
And the MK CONCAM has imaged lasers many times before.
Note that I split this off as a seperate topic since it is clearly not a Perseid as it does not point back toward the constellation of Perseus.

Here's one of the image. I think this might be probably a small streak of the laser itself, although it looks like a meteor.
