Is our Galaxy in the remote distance of a spherical universe

Hi there. Theorists have often considered the Universe as a 4th dimensional equivalent to a sphere, wherein enough distance travelled, one would arrive to the same point. I have often wondered, would it be possible then, to see our own Galaxy in the far far distance, as it was billions of years ago?

No, because every indication is that the Universe is vastly larger than the observable Universe. That means that the photons emitted by the early galaxy are forever isolated from us by causality and the consequences of relativity. People have actively looked for analogous structure on opposite parts of the sky, and not found it.
