And now he's got 6006 posts. It looks so good that it ought to be a prime number. What a pity it isn't.
What happens when he reaches 6666 posts - will the heavens turn black then and the stars fall from the firmament?

Re: The thousand post club
Ann, it wasn't so much the number of posts, it was that he had three -thousand post club posts- in a row, like a slot machine. Although when he gets to 6666, which is one 6 beyond 666, Well... who knows? You very well may be right

Three posts in a row is like three number 7 in a row!! No wonder the coins and the posts come rolling!
So congrats, Art, and have some cake!

The post count increments with each post. The reported post count in the right pane reflects current post count, not the index of the post.Beyond wrote:WOW!, neufer. You've got three #6002 posts in a row. You've hit the "Open Space" Jackpot
It appears that neufer is attempting an end run on me. Now that I'm back from vacation, I'll have to step up my posts to head him off.

bystander, you're still 900+ posts in the lead; you have nothing to worry about!

900? It was over 1,000 before I went on vacation!

Well, you didn't expect him not to post while you were gone, did you? Of course the gap would close some, but really ---- 900 posts! You have nothing to worry about!

Re: The thousand post club
Time for a bit of Swedecana and Pippi Långstrump, so I can get myself a few more posts.
This is what Pippi of my childhood looked like:
Pippi lived all on her own in her big house, Villa Villekulla. Her house was bigger than it looks here:
The children peeking out over the fence are Tommy and Annika, the neighbours' kids. Pippi is just moving in here.
Pippi is carrying her horse to her house for two reasons. The horse, Lilla gubben (Little Man or Little Old Man), is going to live on the porch. And second, Lilla gubben might be tired, so Pippi is carrying him so he can rest his legs.
Pippi is living alone because her mother is an angel and her father is a sailor. Or he used to be, but then on one occasion when Pippi and her father were out sailing, a huge wave washed her father overboard. Since then he has been missing. But Pippi is not worried, because she is sure that he was washed ashore on an island in the Pacific Ocean, where the islanders made him their king. And a few books later Pippi's father, Efraim Långstrump, returns, and he is indeed the king of an island in the Pacific! And Pippi goes visiting his island.
That monkey belongs to Pippi! He lives with her all the time. You can see him hanging on to Lilla gubben's tail, as Pippi is moving into Villa Villekulla. The monkey's name is Herr Nilsson (Mister Nilsson).
Pippi likes to sing sailors' songs. This one is her favorite:
Fifteen men on the Dead Man's Chest
Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!
Here Pippi is singing another song, Sjörövar-Fabbe. The lyrics go like this: Sjörövar-Fabbe, farfars far, är minsann en sjusärdeles karl. Men han är sjösjuk alla dar, tjoa haderittan lej.
English translation: Pirate-Fabbe, great grandpa, is really an amazing man. But he is seasick every day, tjoa haderittan lej.

which is also indecipherable in Google translate.
I'm guessing that it is something akin to: 'Fa la la la la.'
