Martin Pugh's NGC 3314 is spectacular. Thank you Martin!

I also enjoyed the M81 and M82 image, but be careful if you visit their site. It loads a pop-up ad telling you your "IP has been chosen! You have [ > 2 min ] to respond." Not nice!

Saturn with its very active Serpent storm now in its six months of its formation and still plowing through its surface and leaving a trail and possibly viewable on the next apparition and the moons Dione (top L) and Rhea (bot R).

Jason Jennings, that is the best picture I've ever seen of that fascinating hot massive O star close to famous cluster M6. And what a lovely pink emission nebula you've captured all around it! And there is a cluster there, too - NGC 6374! And note famous emission nebula Pismis 24 at lower right, too, and note that it is redder in color than the emission nebula surrounding NGC 6374. Pismis 24 is deeper in the dust and therefore more reddened. That's a lovely picture!!!

And Ignacio de la Cueva, that's a truly fascinating dust structure you have captured! Wow! There is dark nebulosity there, and pink emission nebulosity, and blue reflection nebulosity, and yellow reflection nebulosity, too! Fantastic! And thanks for showing me this intriguing object that I wasn't aware of!

I can't resist adding an itty, bitty tidbit about LDN 1622. I found a paper about LDN 1622 by S. Casassus, G. F. Cabrera, F. Förster, T. J. Pearson, A. C. S. Readhead, and C. Dickinson. The abstract begins like this:

The spectral energy distribution of the dark cloud LDN 1622, as measured by Finkbeiner using WMAP data, drops
above 30 GHz and is suggestive of a Boltzmann cutoff in grain rotation frequencies, characteristic of spinning dust
emission.

And Dani Caxete, your Poppy Moon Eclipse - is it delightful or is it delightful? It's just so beautiful! And lovely! Imagine, the Moon is eclipsed by a poppy! That may be a photographic one-of-a-kind!

Laurent Huet, I was happy to see Hanny, too - Hanny in the sky with emeralds!

And Luc Perrot, Owlice is right, you do look as if you're walking on air!

On my image my friend Wojciech Wesolowski identified and described step by step 351 galaxies and one galaxies group, based on available deep sky maps, images and LEDA ( extended catalog PGC) ,HyperLeda (http://leda.univ-lyon1.fr) and DSS(http://stdatu.stsci.edu/cgi-bin/dss_form/) SIMBAD (http://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/) and NED (http://ned.ipac.caltech.edu/)

We have second version of M-31 rejon with identyfication and descriptions
30 Galaxies from PGC catalog and one Galaxies group.

To search for the galaxies Wojciech used in the database: HyperLeda (http://leda.univ-lyon1.fr) and DSS (http://stdatu.stsci.edu/cgi-bin/dss_form/) for visual verification and to find on the picture.
PGC 2346 i PGC 2590 omitted because they are the globular clusters belonging to M-31 (Bol 306 i Bol 358)
To search LEDA 2318 we used also from two database: SIMBAD (http://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/) and NED (http://ned.ipac.caltech.edu/)

Thank you Ann. I am pleased you enjoyed it. I too noticed the difference in vibrancy due to interstellar reddening caused by dust while processing the data. Very interesting.

This is a shot of the Milky Way over Balanced Rock in Arches National Park. I used a 50mm lens and stitched 15 images together to create a 97 megapixel image. I believe the light in the lower left is from the moon that had not yet risen, as there are no towns in that direction to cause light pollution.

I took this image this morning (June 19, 2011) from a carefully chosen observation point in Turin. The Summer Solstice is approaching (it will occur in two days time) and, in order to celebrate the arrival of Summertime, I captured our Sun rising behind the Basilica of Superga, one of the symbols of Turin (Italy),(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basilica_of_Superga), sitting on a hill around the city.
