The point of this article is that the number of scientists in the country decreased over seven years from 1903 to 1910, and appeared to be an ongoing trend. That’s sad, and I wish the country today were more science-minded. I think too little value is placed on science education these days.
But mainly I want to point out that awesome drawing representing a scientist.

How does a scientist rapidly decrease? It makes sense that only great ones would seek to do so, as those of more usual size would not have the need to, but rapidly decrease? How is it that scientist can decrease rapidly, when the rest of the population who work so hard to decrease spend more weeks than they might like swearing at their scales because their decreasing proceeds so slowly?
It's not just any scientist, it's great scientists. Maybe if you were great, you could decrease rapidly, too. At least until you were out of the great category.

Yet the job market for scientists is apparently not all that attractive… perhaps if scientific jobs could somehow turn a profit… other than enhancing and cultivating mankind.
I certainly feel cultivated... people, astronomy, art and humor all on one easy access NASA server(s).
