Where in the Universe #90
Universe Today - 2010 Feb 05
Since this week is completely different for me, I decided to make the WITU challenge a little different. You can probably guess what planet this is. But the real challenge is to name to moon. Give yourself extra points if you can name the spacecraft responsible for this picture.
For previous challenges, see:

- What moon is pictured?

- Io
- Europa
- Titan
- Triton
- BONUS: What spacecraft took the picture?

- None, it was actually taken by a telescope located on Earth.
Just call me "geck" because "zilla" is like a last name.

Where In The Universe #92
Here's this week's image for the Where In The Universe Challenge, to test your visual knowledge of the cosmos (late again — sorry!) You know what to do: take a look at this image and see if you can determine where in the universe this image is from; give yourself extra points if you can name the instrument responsible for the image. We’ll provide the image today, but won’t reveal the answer until tomorrow. This gives you a chance to mull over the image and provide your answer/guess in the comment section. Please, no links or extensive explanations of what you think this is — give everyone the chance to guess.

Not knowing, I would say it was a binary nebula.
I May edit this post with my answer later.

Where In The Universe Challenge #93
Its time for another “Where In The Universe” challenge, and this one is actually on time this week! The WITU challenge will test your visual knowledge of the cosmos, and this week's image was submitted by UT reader Rob Bowman. Rob is hoping to stump everyone this week, but try to guess/name where in the Universe this image is from, and give yourself extra points if you can name the spacecraft responsible for the image. Make your guess and post a comment, but please no links or extension explanations to the answer. Check back sometime on Thursday to find the answer and see how you did. Good luck!

We had a summer student at work once (name of Glen Cove)
who spent his previous summers scrounging for meteorite fragments here.

Here's this week's Where In The Universe Challenge, and can you believe it — this is the 100th WITU we've done! Amazing! But no resting on our laurels, or yours either for that matter (thanks to you, our readers for making the WITU Challenge such as success!) But you know what to do: take a look at this image and see if you can determine where in the universe this image is from; give yourself extra points if you can name the instrument responsible for the image.
