What is this new forum?

This forum experimental and later on it may be modified, deleted, and/or rules established.

It is also is not visible to the unregistered users (this includes search engine bots) or newbies (users with < 10 posts).

I wouldn't suggest posting anything that might lead to any kind of uncivil conversation. Serious, ok, but you know what topics push everyone's buttons. If you insist, I'll elaborate on exactly what topics those are, but you should know by now. And don't post anything illegal. And that's just my suggestion. Otherwise rules will have to be formulated.

Not just for me mate, other new guys may need guidelines. Illegal? I mean every thing but. I do not join a science forum to see p--n. Im talking fringe science, taboo etc etc.

Adult porn is not illegal, you know. I meant warez, instructions on building nuclear bombs, how to kill the president, etc, etc. Stuff that could get someone sent to jail.

We were actually thinking about making a separate forum for fringe science / taboo things. I don't know if that will happen. If you want my opinion, I think you should wait until such a forum is created before you unload all those taboo things I know you've got floating around in your head. Please don't make Captain Picard put his face in his palm.

It's just... chat. A place to relax and maybe actually get to know each other a little. Think of it like an elevator ride you take to work in the morning. You're not going to suddenly proclaim your belief of planet x or tell someone your opinion on abortion right then and there, are you? I guess it's whatever the community here makes of it, really. Most forums have an area like this to get away from the strictness of the other areas.

In another forum I inhabit, this sort of area is called the Pub. It's the sort of place where you go to relax, knock back a few, tell tall tales and generally get to know the denizens of this odd little planet. Serious discussions should only take place between extremely inebriated individuals, so they can't remember what they said the next day.

Yeah, I think every forum can use an "off-topic" zone. If anything, administration of the other sub-forums will be easier; just plop non-science related stuff over here.

By the way, you actually probably should give RJN and bystander credit for the other changes. I wanted the banter forum but RJN named it. It's really quite a mishmash of work that no one person can take credit for.

you mean it is only possible to kill the president in some special secret way unlike killing regular humans? is the president bulletproof? can't the president be killed by fire? what about chemical poison - doesn't work for the president either?
