yeah, this would be great, but it can't stand stretched images. I have my background set to black already, and if I like an APOD image, use that as my wallpaper, but Tethys looks like a beach ball that a 300 pound person sat on, and that's just undignified! Seriously, though, it's really annoying and I am uninstalling till that is fixed. Thanks.

A new version of APOD.exe is available at http://nightskylive.net/software/apod
This version allows users to eliminate the autmatic stretching of images and let the system do the job. Just select "preferences" from the menu and uncheck "Resize to Desktop".
wrong program
The installer claims the program is IE hijack remover?
does anyoneknow what is going on?

Night Sky Software
Is it usable on a Mac? From the .exe extension, I doubt it, but I suspect a BUNCH of us MACies would love it!

APOD.exe crashes Windows Explorer
APOD.exe seems to cause crashes in Windows Explorer (shell) on XP.
I removed and re-installed the latest version and am still having this issue.
Perhaps it has something to do with a recent Windows service pack (since APOD seemd to work fine until about a week or two ago).
Anyone else having this problem?

Re: APOD.exe crashes Windows Explorer
Correction: My problem was not caused by APOD.EXE. My problem was related to Microsoft's new Anti-Spyware tool. I removed the tool and APOD.EXE now runs flawlessly. Thanks again for this tool!

can the url to the image have the same link every time?
Hello all,
A very nice site I discovered today Great you'r doing this!
I have one question, in the FAQ is stated the following:
But th APOD has an absolute url (like today: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/ ... t_full.jpg) instead of a relative one. Is it possible thats this might change? It would realy be great to wake up in the morning, start my pc, and see the new APOD
Greetings, Lode

I have one question, in the FAQ is stated the following:
I had the idea that it would be great to always have the current APOD on my desktop by putting the url to the image of 'today'.Q6: Can I use an APOD picture for my computer-screen background?
A6: For personal, non-commercial, non-public fair use, yes.
