APOD Video!!
Today, may 29th 2006, there is a videoclip instead of a picture. I prefer that that does not happend again. It's completely inappropriate. It's called Astronomy Picture Of the Day, so please keep it pictures.

Know your technology...
A motion picture requires the sequential display of many pictures in rapid succession.
The plural of picture is "pictures".
The site is called "Astronomy Picture of the Day" (note the singular) so I think that "jelleoelle" has a reasonable point.
The Moral:
If you are a "smart ass" consider those of us pedants!

Who cares what MPEG stands for? It's not a picture. I case you don't know and are interested, the EG stands for (Experts Group).makc wrote:Btw, do you know what "P" stands for in MPEG? It's Motion Picture EG.
Why would I want to rename it? Silly question! As already explained in my first post, what I want is that there is no videos on APOD, but only pictures.makc wrote:so... do you want to rename the site or what?
It's not that it is a huge deal, but that's my opinion anyway.
One reason for it is that I go there to see a picture, wich takes a breif moment, and not to spend an hour watching a video. Another is that I have it set as my background automatically every day.

NASA TV
how about not requiring a proprietary video streaming format?
None of my machines can display it, nor will I bother to find ways to make them do so.
If you must, please just post a link so I can easily ignore it.

APOD Video
Please reconsider the use of Window Media Player for the video. Only Windows machines can use it. You must understand the many thousands of Mac's and others out there that view APOD all the time. We are being left out. Quicktime player works for Macs and PCs alike. Please add that!
