Question on the 29Sep09 APOD
I'm trying to get oriented on this picture. This photo shows the Horsehead nebula with the horse facing Alnitak toward the observers left and the 3 main stars of Orion's belt in a diagonal line upward and to the left. But when I look at Orion from the northern hemisphere, the three stars of Orion's belt line up diagonally to the right. Is this image reversed for some reason or is it just me?

- The image was rotated so:
1) the horsehead would be upright
. and/or
2) M42 would be included

Thanks. I looked on the sky view of Google Earth and it shows that what you say is correct.
