Hello
I am new to APOD and to this forum, so I am not sure if this is the right way to go about this message. Anyway here goes.
It is a wonderful service, and great to be able to view these fantastic pictures. An enormous thank you to all who contribute.
Of course there is a 'but', but it's a small one. One of my few and minor gripes is that astronomers (everywhere, not just on APOD) very seldom give any scale to their pictures. I would always like to know how much sky is covered by what I am shown, to put it in perspective. A few do, like the pictures of Jupiter for July 31 2009, witha scale bar of arc seconds. Thank you -- I'd like to see that on all the sky pictures.
If I have missed something then I apologise. I do really mean my unreserved appreciation and thanks
Harry

G'day
You sound like a Harry
I agree many images do lack scale.
Some images can be a day light away or a billion light years away and in width.
It's good to know.

When you see a picture of Jupiter or any other Object in our galaxy There is NO Sky But I understand what you are asking for And no doubt after my post here, you will get All the info you want... lol...
There are posts on this ''Apod'' site, that shows our planet Earth next to the Objects you would like a perspective on...Maybe One of the great mods will point you the way.... Welcome To Apod Mate
