Orion's Belt Continued (2009 Feb 11)
Could someone fix it so that if a person clicked on a /the object being discussed the name of it would come up? Yes I'm new but I'd like to at least be able to identify the objects in the pictures.

Re: Today's picture
Or... or you could use a search engine of your choice and type in something like "labeled Orion images", or whatever, and see what hits get returned. (I'd do it, but I'm too lazy.....) But that is just one way to get what you're asking for.
Excellent image, today's, btw.....

Re: Todays picture
Thanks for the suggetion. I will try it . I think adding names to the topic stars in all the pictues would make it easier foer anyone new coming to this site. Adding the extra step of finding a labeled picture site merely adds a barrier.

The APOD editors have day jobs. Annotation done properly and completely can take hours per picture. I don't think it's a priority.

Okay, make me a liar. It just proves that APOD is a reflection of life, maybe the reason I like it so much.

Only one day later, they annotated this picture for you. If I could get service like that everywhere I go, I'd be as happy as a pig in space (or in slop, or in something). But a color other than black might make more readable labels.

Whoa, I'd like to take credit, but the APOD editors did it. I'm just an ordinary forum contributor with apod in my name who noted the event. Thank you editors.Cataloger623 wrote:apodman Thanks for annotating the photo. Sorry I did not express my thanks earlier.
