FITS Header
Justin and I have discovered that the temperture reading displayed in the FITS header sometimes incorrect. The temperture readings are around 10^25 degrees C, which is around the temp of the Big Bang. So unless the Concams are recreating the Big Bang, there is a definate problem with the header. Her...

I would be careful about drawing any conclusions based on this frame or for that matter any other frame from that night. Looking over the movie file, the night is mostly cloud and there appears to be water on the center of the lens. Therefore, given that this bright smug is near the center, it very ...

NSL Comparison of Observing Sites
I was trying to download the movie files for January,2004 to start rating them, but i found that only the movie files from January,2004 from South Africa and Austrila can be found. All the other CONCAMS that where operational do not have the movie files. This might mean that we will have to do a pic...

I agree with Vic. I think this might be a good way to do the analysis of the sites. It seems to be less subjective than what we were discussing yesterday, though it might be more work. Maybe we should give it a try and see how long it takes us and then decide whether its worth the time and effort. M...

I had to deal with this problem with Polaris this summer. I found that the numbers switch from SAO to HD around March 1st, 2004. It is hard to pinpoint the exact day because from around Feb. 22nd through March 3rd, there is a combination of water droplets on the lens and a very bright moon. The last...
