interesting article there Bmaone. that article states explicitly that we are responsible for global warming. I do not say we are not responsible for it all, but we do contribute to the CURRENT episode. In fact we know that the Earth has warmed and cooled throughout her history. I prefer to think tha...

If I remember correctly the lack of stars in the very photographs linked, were a major reason conspiracy theorists say NASA never went to the moon. that and the waving flag  I was in Grade schol and even I was told BEFORE we landed on the moon that the flag was going to be held by wires to appe...

Red spot Jr. (APOD 5 May 2006)
I read sometime back that the 2 giant storms on Jupiter would be colliding on or about July4th of this year.
Giant Red spot and red spot Jr.
I am looking for more information and any websites about this Stellar event. I only hope we have Hubbles camera back up and running

constant or steady state? steady state runs out of material constant has it's material renewed Big Bang supports steady state by placing all material at once into the universe and then steady state consumes it. Big bang supports constant by creating material AND physics for replacing material (Stars...

Galactic poles
as I considered the analogies offered to explain the rotation theory and point of perspective I grasped what I was missing from the point, It would be simpler stated as, 'If you see a galaxy spinning right you are looking at its North pole,if it is turning left you are looking at it's south pole' Bu...

good question,I have had that thought myself before. Orins answer left me a little more perplexed as it indicates that all galaxies are turning the same direction. this would indicate a universal force declaring right rotation (or left), and a mere perspective of this deciding how we view that rotat...

overexposure
The photo appears over exposed to me. creating a false sheen on the surface. notice on left sides of craters where sun is hitting surface straight on there is no texture only glare. this is the first photo and very tempting in detail (2.5 M per pixel) and I look forward to the final evolution cycle ...

as this photo in APOD shows Titan, the thing that struck me was how clear the right edge of the moon is, yet the left edge is blurred across its entirety. is this a composite image,OR (is the right edge facing the Sun and thus more accented ?)

Hello moderators ; I hope it is OK to drop this link to a 'sister' site here. I find it an interesting look at Mars. interesting theory I have to share here. The lifetime of light is 16 Billion years. as this is how far we can see. Some profess that we are looking at the beginning of All there is. The Big Bang, or as near to it as technologically possible at this time. perhaps it is opposite, we are seeing the end...
