I think that the universe may have appeared just like how a virtual particle appears and then disappears, except on a much grander scale.

Here's another interesting fact about Mercury:
Mercury has an iron core, which could only be possible if it was a larger planet. It is assumed that, during the early times of the Solar System, Mercury was once larger, maybe closer to the size of Mars, before something caused it to shrink.

I'm not actually sure when I started to have an interest in astronomy. When I was, perhaps, 2 years old, I would call all white circular-shaped objects the "moon". When I learned to read, around the age of 3, I took an interest in reading books about space and astronomy. I didn't understan...
