Sure, it cute... But this is at least the second, if not the third time this has shown up on an APOD.
How about a new survey using the webb telescope? Now that would be interesting.

Re: APOD: Split the Universe (2022 Apr 24)
Fabulous! But, you don't tell us what 'random' number generator is used. I fear it is NOT really random. Genuine random only comes from e.g. radioactive decay. That, of course, is the million dollar question. Are things we consider truly stochastic, like radioactive decay or the formation and annih...

The picture was taken 13 years ago. How many times has this been used in APODs.
Also nice that they were able to rebuild the whole thing after that little tourist accident.

Is that a tiny black dust cloud at the center of the nebula, to the side of the WR star?
Perhaps the star burped up a bit of soot?

Yet another apod deja view.
Not only have we seen it before (the exact shot, apod 28 Dec 2019), but we've also read the same exact description, (with just the slight update for the next eclipse).

Got to show you my favorite picture of NGC 4631 and NGC 4656. It is the picture at right by Mark Hanson, and it has been picked as the "Space Porn of the Day Picture". Do click on the image to see a larger size of it! Ann Definitely one of those astronomy sites that I haven't seen yet....

Re: APOD: Planet Earth at Twilight (2021 Apr 22)
I've heard that Earth is losing O 2 in its atmosphere but science does not understand why. All the while CO 2 keeps rising. Apparently there is no simple way of stripping O 2 from the carbon? If one could do this where would the carbon go--probably grab the O 2 right back? There are simple ways to ...

Seems to be the wrong image here, not clear where the "superposed" magnetic streamlines are.
An image connected to the title's (USRA) link may be the intended image.
https://newsroom.usra.edu/galactic-merg ... ic-fields/
Lots of extra lines on that one.

OK, muons wobble more than predicted.
That may well be big news for the realm of quantum physics.
Wake me up when we get back to an "Astronomy" Picture of the Day.
