VDB152 ,sometimes called the "wolf's cave" nebula in Cepheus is my first image after re-installing my dual telescope rig on a lower pier to make it more resilient against wind gusts. Sounds easy , right 🙂 not really as everything needed to be re-aligned and calibrated. We also took the opp...

M101 or the Pinwheel galaxy is a face on spiral galaxy that's about 21 Million light years distant. It's about twice the diameter of our Milky way galaxy. A popular target for amateur astrophotographers, it looks an easy target, but the very large dynamic range, from bright blue massive stars and st...

Hi All,
here's an image of M51 and Partner NGC 5195 I took last week from the new Mexico high desert. It's a subject I've imaged many times but I really like ho this one turned out, seeing was very good.

The Angel Nebula and the dust clouds of Monoceros contain many interesting deep sky objects, principally NGC 2170 which is often interchangeable as a name. NGC 2182, NGC2167 can also be seen in this deep, wide field shot. I also wanted to include VdB70 which is the red disk seen at the top right in ...

The Horsehead and Flame Nebula ,plus some other nice reflection nebulae like NGC 2023 seen between these in blue is a region almost everyone has imaged, but it doesn't stop it being beautiful and fascinating. This is an LRGB image cropped to about 50% taken on my Takahashi FSQ106EDX4 from Animas, NM...

The California Nebula this is my " first light" image taken at Dark Sky New Mexico on my Takahashi FSQ106/A-P 1100 combo The California Nebula (NGC 1499) is an emission nebula about 1000 Light years from Earth. Its name comes from the fact that the central most often imaged portion looks (...

This is a widefield view of the Crescent Nebula (NGC6888) and the surrounding wonderful area of Cygnus Nebulosity and the very faint "Soap Bubble" nebula seen just below it. The Crescent Nebula is the nebulosity caused by gas shells being ejected from the massively hot central star, Wolf-R...

This wide field view of part of Sagittarius, shows the Lagoon nebula (M8) and Trifid Nebula (M20) as erupting ionization areas embedded in a rich field of molecular clouds. There are many other seldom imaged interesting structures within the surrounding area such as filaments and other areas of nebu...

The Lion Nebula Sh2-132 - a deep view I'm not sure why but I have been obsessed by this nebula for a while, as it is so faint, understanding more about its true structure and morphology is interesting. I posted a picture of this subject a couple of weeks ago, but I was able to image consistently for...

Re: Submissions: 2023 September
The Lion Nebula Sh2-132 is an interesting nebula, part of the Sharpless catalog, primarily a star formation area with several massive hot blue stars ionizing the gasses in this formation . There are also two Wolf-Rayet stars identified within the nebula, these are supermassive highly energetic stars...

SHO Jellyfish Nebula
The Jellyfish Nebula and friends ( IC443) in SHO I posted a half finished image of this a few days ago and was lucky enough to get a few moonless hours to re-do the OIII and SII. I have to say I'm fairly pleased with the result which has enough data to produce a deep image and faint details that ar...

The Tadpoles Nebula (IC410) and Flaming Star Nebula in the Constellation of Auriga. I took this HaSHO image last week on a very rare almost clear night. In fact it was the clearest night in northern Vermont since last July!. Rather than completing some earlier projects I thought I’d shoot something...
