Re: APOD: Jupiter Abyss (2019 Jun 10)
Off topic, but Jupiter's Great Red Spot may be undergoing some dramatic changes right now. https://astronomynow.com/2019/06/06/observers-urged-to-monitor-jupiters-unravelling-great-red-spot/ Ann You're right. The pictures look dramatic. But with Heraclitus: "The only constant in the universe i...

Oh. ThanX 4 your interest. I'm just an amateur, but a big, big APOD fan!
The pictures for my insta account I produce myself.

Re: APOD: NICER at Night (2019 Jun 01)
Interesting. The bright sources in this picture look like magnets in the sky, surrounded by funny-looking field lines. Well, I guess that many of them are magnets, so to speak, such as highly magnetized pulsars or maybe magnetars. Some of the "field lines" are funny-looking indeed. Severa...

I think, one of the most interesting Herbig-Haro objects in IDN1251 is HH149. The brightest star, in the picture above right (Close up/ 2nd picture), is probably a double star system. (As far as this can be judged by the Hubble picture resolution)... https://instagram.fzrh3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/vp/758146...

What a great composite picture! But what is the blue oval-shaped ring in the left upper half of the picture? Hydrogen, oxygen, or sulfur? Generally Blue... is Oxygen in this type image...Sulfur is Yellow, and Hydrogen is Red... I don't know if that changes with the Broadband RGB blended though... :...

Ring, Bar? Where exactly? ..."Note in the NASA/ESA/Hubble picture at left that there are many hot and blue stars in the inner ring. As you can see, the dusty bar, running from the outer to the inner ring of M95, is also quite obvious. But please note in today's APOD that one half of this bar i...
