You guys are awesome, I've never had such a rain of relevant advice whenever I asked for something on the internet! That will help me a lot, I'm really grateful.
Regarding li-ion batteries, I'm used to the technology since I'm already using these for different applications (airsoft, mostly).

Re: Weather!
Speaking of the weather, I've got a little question regarding sunlight and solar panels. To make it short, my wife and I may be leaving Russia soon, not to come back to Scotland, but to go to Greece, where we're planning to buy a house and work from there. However, we'd like to make it as autonomous...

Re: Animalia
Well, isn't spider web tougher than a piece of steel of the same size after all? Or was it a hoax/pseudoscience that was debunked? Anyways, someone without 8 legs finally found a purpose for cobwebs, and that's good to know ; maybe some day I'll find what to do with the indecently large amounts of t...

Now that looks gorgeous, nature (and a random car passing by) can create things that look better than any picture with tons of filters..
Oh, well, the fact that 16 pictures are superposed can play a role in the fact it looks like something out of a dream, but still.

Re: Introductions: How did you become interested in astronomy?
Hello everyone, I'm Paul from northern Scotland and have always been fascinated with astronomy since I saw my first northern lights as a kid. Right now I live in Moscow and can't really look at the sky (which is always overcast, and polluted with light when the weather's good) but when I go to the d...
