ESA is talking about Rosetta finding massive sink holes on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
The article went on to talk about how sink holes would increase the surface area, allowing more vaporization into space.
So basically, you've got a naturally ocurring Rocket Venturi!

Amazing!
There's an article in Space.com about auroras on Mars possibly being visible from the surface.
Makes me wonder if Hubble could spot Mars auroras from space?

Hello, The glowing rippling effect you describe sounds like it could be fog illuminated by the light reflected from the object. I suspect that any flappng object would be a bird. There are no real aerodynamic reasons to build an ornathopter. They certainly look cool, but that's about it. S...

Re: A question about love
There are a lot of variables in the equation. It depends on you. It depends on the person who loves you. It depends on how you feel about the person who loves you. Without knowing anything specific, I'd say it feels reassuring, knowing that someone (if they love you) will look past your faults and a...

Anybody got a good source?

Yipes. That's going to cause some upsets. If I recall correctly, the guy who did the initial Supernova 1A work got the Nobel Prize for it. It will be extremely embarassing if it proves incorrect. Now, I have to wonder about the mechanism for variability. The Type 1A supernova is thought to be caused...

A problem I see with this theory is that the universe is demonstrably aging. We can see the progression of the formation of elements in the stars of distant galaxies in the concentration of iron atoms. If the universe is infinitely old, it seems to me there should be a lot more iron than there is. S...
