What a great image. I'm a fan of RBA as well. He's definitely one of the best at digging integrated flux nebulae out of the noise.

As far as Landscape images go, this is one of the more appealing ones to me. The haze around the moon adds to it's beauty. You can be rest assured that the photographer went to a considerable amount of effort to make this capture. What a nice surprise it must have been to learn it would be the APOD ...

Re: APOD: Nearby Cepheid Variable RS Pup (2013 Sep 09)
Variability in stars occurs, (according to what I recall reading) from stars not being able to arrive at a balance between gravity, which works to shrink the star, and the heat released by nuclear fusion reactions deep inside the star, which work to inflate the star. So the regular light curve of a...

Then why are there parts of the animation that do not show any expansion? Was the new image taken with the same filters as the old image? Because some things appear at the same place others disappear when they should be farther out...at the bottom left it even "shrinks" back... :---[===] ...

Am I correct in stating that all clocks are unaffected by time dilation as long as our reference to them don't change? However, we can see the affects gravity waves on the clock?
