On the animation in the "latest flyby" link it almost appears Enceladus is could be self-propelled by its jets. Of course it's not undergoing propulsion but it will garner a lot of attention years from now if NASA could JET to Enceladus and Titan and return LIFE.

Do you think [Springfield Heights Institute of Technology] has an on-line degree available? Sounds like the place for my BS in physics. You were Principal Kahoutek's mischievous little boy weren't you. They say time runs faster has you get older. Re: APOD: The Southern Cross in a Southern Sky (2015 Oct 19)

Today's superlative image is a sight us Northerners have to travel far to witness in person. I like the contrast of the dark horizon and bright sky. But as Art pointed out - not all constellations are experienced alike by all individuals. Just as the stars of the Southern Cross can be made to stand ...

It is actually ironic that we haven't even documented all the forms of life on our own planet but many of us spend endless time in curiosity about what we aren't likely ever to see.

Go wonder! :)

This image is a nice reflection on shadows, distance and time. I like its composition and applaud the photographer's insight and imagination to capture light in varieties of intensities and dimensions. In black and white, its "color" is left to the eye of the beholder.

The idea of a quantum of time is very enticing and it seems aptly named. If chronons exist it's tempting to speculate, as you say, their relationship to mass and energy. That brings to mind another formula which is quite famous. Is it possible to define a "second" simply by the rearrangeme...

I think the next robotic craft sent to Mars perhaps ought to be a portable drilling rig. Pick a few likely spots and try going down 100 feet, if necessary. Actually, I'm thinking that NASA will become interested in drilling deeper on lots of Solar system bodies. But for Mars, there is a practical b...

Colonizing Mars with Earth bacteria is an ethical dilemma which will need debated prior to human...
