Re: APOD: Tumultuous Clouds of Jupiter (2020 Jan 06)
Hi My question is why is there so many variations is Jupiters upper clouds. Why don't they mix more thoroughly? Pure gases must be being born somehow and then wisp'ed away quicky to the top while warm. Swirling around a bit while cooling, then falling back down violently and forcefully into unforgiv...

Can it take longer exposures to resolve deep field shots? Most old stars glow red for a very long time before they go cold, there are a lot of those around too I assume. So i'm thinking it can detect much fainter stars, much farther away. Very cool

"So some animations are using actual star coordinates to draw them with, so we can fly around in their space if-u-will?" Could some kind soul direct me then to the best representation of an actual star field to fly through while sitting in my Captain's chair? Who makes 'real 3d star field'...

the fine print on my prescription bottle?I wonder if they point it toward Earth; just what they will see?
Has Hubble ever done that? If so the photos probably have been classified.
Can either telescope even focus that close?

Re: 3d space video craze
hey Chris! So some animations are using actual star coordinates to draw them so we can fly around in their space if-u-will? Mostly confined to our own nearby galactic group. Are http://universesandbox.com/ & http://spaceengine.org/ doing this rather easily? I'll assume it's still takes a large o...

Hi 'gentle travelers" -Isaac Asimov Lately I can enjoy flying in and around Nebula's and Galaxies and such, without much imagination anymore. But while I am enjoying flying around, I can't help wonder how it's done? I bet it's as simple as entering the distance of each object into a super compu...

If the future is in the past
It's surely because it didn't last.
When silence is spoken,
The quiet alliance is broken.
When there is nothing here
There must be something there.
Thanks for the inspiration
It created no perspiration...
