@Cousin Ricky
Good to know it does work. I am on Mageia4 and the Flash plugin in their repositories may not be the latest. I have the Fluendo h264 codec but don't know if that is compatible with a browser.

Re: APOD: Wanderers (2014 Dec 08)
Thanks for the suggestion. Just tried it but it still does not play. I must be missing some plugin or other. Adobe Flashplayer is supported up to version 11.2 I think; after that it has to be Pipelight plugins. But it might not be flash. Some of the newer systems have no Linux support at all.

Video not playing in Firefox
Does anybody know what player the latest VIMEO video "Wanderers" uses? Is it Flash?
It refuses to play on my Linux system so I might have to search for an appropriate plugin.

Re: Vanishing Apod
I do not think anything I have said has much relevance to this problem. Every now and again the site decides to try to load but is excessively slow. The text comes up fairly quickly but images load at 100 bytes/sec (on a 50 MHz connection) and the server times out eventually.

Re: Vanishing Apod
I have been thinking more about this. Here we have a number of people with different hardware, different browsers, ISPs and operating systems, who suddenly experienced the same problem in accessing APOD, all about the same time, which would indicate that something outside their control has changed. ...

No, using the bare URL shows the same symptom, no immediate access. No access to APOD
Not sure if this is the appropriate forum to bring this up. Since New Year I have been unable to access the APOD site. Other people on the web seem to have had trouble also. http://www.isup.me indicates that the NASA site is working fine so the problem lies between NASA and me. Most of the suggestio...
