Galactic centre is a very busy place. Does anyone know how far from centre is habitable? You can probably be quite close to the core and find things "habitable". But you might need to be outside the bulge completely to find stars where advanced life could form, since in the higher density...

When we see pictures of spiral galaxies, like the Milky way. It seems that in most every case, it is assumed there is a massive black hole in the centre.
