I kinda wish the supernova could have been pointed out in the original image. Nice, though.

Re: Okay, Chris, I did make an effort!

When you make your posts, you see the smilies on the right. Just below them is-->view more smilies<---, click on that. What pops up may cover where your smilies will be going, so you have to remember how many times you clicked. Each click on a smilie will give you one smilie. Up to the the limit, o...

I was finally able to get rid of those text-enhance links, but not the ways you all provided, although I thank you for helping. I went to the text-enhance website and it had an option to opt out of seeing the links. I clicked it, typed in a captcha, and a message said "you have been opted out o...

Re: APOD: Deep Orion Over the Canary Islands (2012 Jan 23)

The clouds on the right side seem to be mammatus clouds . I think they are something in the cirrus family, distorted by the stacking of multiple exposures. You're probably right, although the anvil of a cumulonimbus cloud is as high as the cirrus clouds. It may be composed slightly if cirrus, just ...

Re: Weather!

It's pretty rare, though, for cumulonimbus (thunder) clouds to develop in cold weather, especially if it's snowing. I don't think I have been in a thundersnow, though. It was 54 degrees outside, barely warm enough for a cumulonimbus cloud to form.

Text Enhance

Whenever I get on the internet, random words are highlighted in blue and underlined, as if they were links. If I put my cursor over the word, a small window appears that has a random ad, usually a $1000 Walmart gift card. For example, on the APOD site, the word "Sun" is one of those words....
