Re: Submissions: 2024 July
The past 2 weeks we were in Norway and I kept a close eye on the increased solar activity that could cause the Northern Lights. First, the Northern Lights were predicted for August 11, but it was raining and cloudy and fortunately the Northern Lights stayed away for a while. The night of August 12 t...

Re: Submissions: 2023 January
This image is an experiment I did using data from the GONG h-alpha network. I wanted to show the development of some solar filaments that I also imaged myself in July last year and that showed a very nice development in the days they were visible. I gathered data from the period from 4th of July unt...

Re: Submissions: 2022 August
This 90 megapixel image is the result of a cooperation with 3 fellow astrophotographers, Sara Wager, Dominique Dierick and Kees Scherer and myself. It all started in 2017 when we worked together on a larger mosaic of part of the Cygnus constellation. The zoomable result of this cooperation can be se...

Re: Submissions: 2022 July
Our sun is getting more active again and is really starting to show off. This image, taken on July 14th, shows it in all its glory as seen through an H-alpha telescope. This image was taken in 6 minutes gathering almost 100Gb of data to get this high resolution result.

Shark Attack - LDN 1235/1251
This image makes me think of a shark lurking under the water surface at a lonely swimmer in the water. The dark nebulae in this region are very impressive.

Re: Submissions: 2020 April
On April 3rd 2020 Venus passed through the Pleiades Star cluster. At 20:20 UTC I made images of Venus in the Pleiades and combined this image with an earlier image that I took of the Pleiades with the same setup. This is the result showing Venus during its transit through the Pleiades. Telescope: TM...

Re: Submissions: 2019 November
This image shows the extended nebulosity around IC59/IC63. This nebulosity is very rarely found on imagery, and as far as I know only a handful of images showing this nebulosity can be found, where most of them only show a very weak impression of the nebulosity. With this image I hope to challenge p...

Re: Submissions: 2019 November
Tell me, though. In the caption you wrote the following: The overview image shows the constellation of Cygnus and shows where the remnant is found. Where is the overview image? I can't find it. Ann Thanks so much. The overview is in the bottom, but it is really, really small. This is better I think...
