Re: Recent Submissions: 2012 January 13-
At the moment I have an FSQ106 borrowed from a fellow astronomer. I decided to make some imagery now it finally (since 1,5 months) has become good weather here in Holland. The images was made using the Tak FSQ106 with a SXV-H9 camera. Exposures: 13x900s Ha (Custom Scientific 4,5nm) = 3,25h 12x900s O...

Re: Recent Submissions
Here is an image which was posted in an earlier version a few months ago. Now RGB data was added to introduce real star colors instead of the hubble palette colors... In total the following exposures were made: Ha: 6x1800s (ED80 4,5nm Custom scientific)/6x1800s (FSQ85 5nm astrodon) OIII: 7x1800s (FS...

Re: Recent Submissions
Not a fancy image this time, but something at least as exciting I think. I recently stepped into the topic of photometry. Doing measurements I found high accuracies and so I took up the challenge to detect an exoplanet from my backyard. Two days ago there was a transit predicted of Qatar-1b, an exop...

Re: Recent Submissions
I remade the M27 earlier submitted with extra OIII and Ha data gathered in the last two days. I think this version is much better than the earlier version and I think it's quite a different view of M27 than what I'm used to see..... Exposures: C11 f/6.3: H-alpha 5x30 minutes with 4,5nm custom scient...

Re: Recent Submissions
Last week I made images of M27 with my ED110. I decided to combine these images with Ha and OIII data taken with my C11 earlier this year. So in the end I made a widefield (well a bit) with the details of the C11 in the core. Exposures: C11 f/6.3: H-alpha 5x30 minutes with 4,5nm custom scientific fi...

Here is a series of moonimages I made in the last week where you can see the differences in time when the shadows change their shapes and the moon is differently lighted. Here is an image I made of the harvest moon the day before yesterday. It was made in RGB and I used saturation and levels to highlight the color differences between different parts of the moon. Clearly the mares and young ejecta patterns can be recognized by their colors... (19:30 UTC image updated ...

Re: Poll: Recent Submissions #27 -- Their Day Will Come
First of all I would like to thank everybody who has voted for our image. It was a real great feeling to see we ended this high in the poll. As a starter in this field, I really thought we had an APOD and you can imagine how good our weekend was. Later I found out that the poll (although officially ...

Updated version of Pelican Nebula
We wanted to wait for the poll to end before posting an updated version of the Pelican Nebula we made. We think this one is better in color and detail. We hope you agree....
