Comet ovejoy 4 panel mosaic

Comet Lovejoy's tail is becoming brighter and the comet head brighter as well.

This is a 4 panel mosaic taken 8 Jan 15 in Kurrajong NSW Australia.

Vela Supernova Remnant Mosaic

This is a fabulous object in the Southern skies. The remnants of a Supernova. Nearby are the Gum Nebulas.

The Wolf Nebula SL17

This area of dark nebula in the constellation of Scorpius strongly resembles a Wolf.
Taken at my dark site observatory with a TEC180 fluorite refractor.

The Wolf Nebula SL17 in Scorpius. An area of dark dust forms a shape that remarkably looks like a Wolf. A colourful area of the sky with emission nebula and sparkling stars of various hues. Thors Helmet. NGC 2359 is a large emission nebula with a large giant hot Wof Rayet star driving the emissions and creating the shockwave with the surrounding molecular cloud. NGC6164 is dominated by a giant hot Wolf Rayet star at the centre. A delicate O111 shockwave frames this nebula forming a flowerlike arrangement.

I followed the thread about how to post an image. I placed a url to a PBase image of mine and it does not show the image in the post only a white box with a red X in it. The image was under 400 pixels wide as per the rules and was only about 180kb in size. Also there is mention of uploading an image...

The Helix Nebula 10 hours 45 minutes
