This image of M82 was photographed by Lars Zetterlund using a C14 during 2 nights for a total of more than 12 hours.
I helped with the post processing of the images mixing the Ha to the LRGB files.

Re: APOD: A Happy Sky over Los Angeles (2017 Nov 12)
It was indeed a beautiful conjunction.
According to a simulation I did in StarryNightPro, on this day in 2008 the Moon was close to full so I think this picture was rather photographed on the 30th of November 2008.

Worldwide Jupiter Animation Project
. 1,000 images contributed by 91 amateur planetary photographers from around the world. I started this project a year ago and it has taken me thousands of hours to stitch together the images into this animation. It is also a contribution to Mission Juno: several of the amateurs in this project also ...

Aurora and Moon
A magnificent display of last nights aurora photographed from Väddö, some 100 km north-east from Stockholm (where the sky was overcast). The Moon helped by lighting up the scenery and added some blue and silver to the colorful palette. The panorama is about 200° and results from stitching 3 fisheye ...

Re: Submissions: 2014 July
The NLC display in Stockholm last night was just incredible and covered half of the sky with electric blue filaments. I stitched together 24 exposures taken with my fisheye lens into a Little Planet-projection so I could also include the beautiful summer cityskape. Normaly the almost full Moon would...

Voyager 3 Project - Side by side
We made a follow up short movie https://vimeo.com/98629249 to our previous longer version https://vimeo.com/98291257 , where we have put the Voyager 1 and our Voyager 3 sequences side by side. We adapted both the inflight direction and the position of the Great Red Spot (GRS) so they would match and...

Voyager 3 Project
In 1979, the Voyager 1 probe took a stunning series of images on its final approach to Jupiter that clearly showed the intricate movement of the cloudbelts for the first time. 35 years later, almost to the day, a group of 7 swedish amateur astronomers set out to replicate this odyssey as a tribute t...

Mars and Phobos
4 days after photographing Deimos, the atmospheric conditions were excellent with no wind and almost no turbulence, the kind of conditions you only get once or twice in a year :D I changed the setup from my Newton to a 4" apo refractor that is very sharp and this time I was lucky to capture the...

Mars and Deimos
This is a good year for observing Mars even if the planet stays low in the sky for us living far up in the north. I live in Stockholm, Sweden and Mars never gets higher than 27° above the horizon. Next favorable opposition will be in 2020 so I took my chance at photographing Mars faint Moons, Deimos...

A year ago, I was standing in the staircase on the top floor of my appartment buiding talking to a neighbor. Suddenly he noticed a perfect image of the Sun slowly moving across the wall behind me. It only lasted for a couple of minutes. The Sun was shining through a keyhole which acted as a lens, ju...

Re: Submissions Gallery: 2013 Perseid Meteors
As the weather forecast looks rather bad for the days ahead, I spent 3 hours tonight photographing the sky with a fisheye lens, hoping to catch some early Perseids. I managed to get a total of 8 and a great number of flashing satellites that can sometimes be mistaken for meteors. Satellites typicall...

Eclipsed Moon over Stockholm
A wonderful, partialy eclipsed Moon rising over Stockholm on the 25th of April. Because of the passing clouds the eclipse was not visually very evident. It was more sensed by a slightly dimmed luminosity. Here is a link to the high res image: http://spaceweather.com/gallery/full_image.php?image_name...

The Moon and Venus displayed very similar phases yesterday (23 May) almost looking like twins, one heading for the Sun, the other having just performed a remarkable transit wich resulted in the annular eclipse 2 days ago. Here is a colorful drawing, published in the newspaper "Le Parisien", on Sunday 15th May 1910. At this time, the Halley cometa appeared in the sky, thus parisians went out to see it, at night, on the roofs of the city. The Halley cometa aroused everybody's curiosity. As a student I used t...
