Re: APOD: Saturn at Equinox (2014 Sep 21)
When you look at the large image, zoom into the shadow of Saturn on the rings to the right and look near the centre of the shadow upon the rings, there is a faint pinprick of light in there, could that be one of the moons and if so, does anyone know which one it may be? Or could that be some sort of...

It looks eerily like an embryo in a womb when zoomed in. Not saying what species this embryo is and that's an odd womb (it's frikkin purple!!), but it's a species that has the ability to shoot deadly rays at us so it's probably related to that weird lil alien Sigourney Weaver kept running into :mrgr...

Re: APOD: Cassini Spacecraft Crosses Saturns... (2014 Feb 23
Extrordinary photo. Question though. The rings are an equatorial phenomenon around Saturn. However, in the picdture, the upper half of Saturn's globe appears to be distinctly tilted towards the equator and is not symmetrical with the lower half of the globe. Is this a photo error or the actual orie...

I would not have guessed that would've happened, I thought droplets would fly away in all directions. A very cool experiment girls, congrats on suggesting it! There sure are allot of active star forming regions in both of these Galaxies spiral arms, makes for a beautiful image. It would be so cool to revisit this collision in another million years to see how things have changed.

There is one star at the bottom left of this image (2nd star from left edge right at the bottom) that appears to have two jets of material, perfectly perpendicular to the star. Re: APOD: M33: Triangulum Galaxy (2010 Dec 03)
From what I understand, and it is limited, Galaxies do rotate, but unlike how you would think. Since the laws of physics state that a spinning object rotates faster the closer you get to it's rotational center, you would expect Galaxies to basically spin themselves to pieces since they are not a sol...

We also have to remember that these sounds were sped up x16 in the recordings that were posted, so oceanic Asteroid strikes would be kinda unlikely (but not improbable). Plus they would produce a very different type of rumble and probably produce a detectable air pressure wave along with it. I would...
