New Tattoo
Morning/Afternoon After a recent split from my girlfriend I have been left with a rather unslightly tattoo of her name on my left breast area. Since they say tattoos have to have meaning and since i love space/astronomy and all things attached. I've chosen this as my inspiration (of which I am all o...

Re: APOD: M31 versus M33 (2013 Sep 26)
this image got me thinking about dark matter. if you grab a squishy ball (dark matter in this example) and squash it between each hand (representing each galaxy) then the ball will displace accordingly on both sides. If dark matter exists then surely it should be similarly displaced by the two galax...

Re: Tomorrow's APOD
On a more serious note "on the rocks" implies ice and ice and space means a Comet in my opinion. Comet ISON is on its way and I think it will have something to do with that.

ha-ha, the 'lottery' deals with money, a whole different energy scenario. Tomorrow's APOD...2013 September 27... on the rocks ... would seem to be about a galactic shipwreck. Unless of course, there's something in space named after a type of whiskey. :lol2: Jim Beam?? A Beam of some description? Im...

Re: Black Hole = Big Bang = Another Universe
ive read things on here some places and also viewed it in documentaries a bit more noteworthy than through the wormhole. if expansion happened as quickly as they say then the rate at which the universe expanded had to be faster than the speed of light. since light is the universal speed limit it is ...

Re: Black Hole = Big Bang = Another Universe
I love the idea of white holes spawning new universes however, if the matter being ejected into the new universe (if it were the case the white hole theory was correct) is governed by the same rules of physics as our own, as it would undoubtedly be as it is the same matter in an empty vaccuum. then ...

I've been checking accu weather's sunrise/sunset section. yesterday the 21st it showed the daylight as 12 hours and 11 minutes. today it's two minutes shorter, but still not exactly 12 hours. at this rate it will be exactly 12 hours in about 3 or 4 more days. How come it's not exactly 12 hours on t...

Re: Decisions, decisions
Killing Hitler when he was a nobody and had no lifeguards or anything sounds interesting. What I'd really like to know is if that would have stopped World War II. Perhaps Nazism, or something similar, would have come about anyway. Or maybe not. But could I blend in in early twentieth century German...
