Hi. New to this forum but an old reader of APOD. I have done quite a few hours of piloting in this kind of weather in small planes. This looks exactly like a wet day, low transparent sheets of clouds, lighted by a setting sun. The rays of the sun reach the clouds but not the ground. Nothing unusual ...
