Re: APOD assessment poll #1

APOD is a perfect combination of pictures and text. The picture is the most impressive part of the page at first. The text is great and the hyperlinks provide additional information. Text is excellent, sometimes poetic[1] and even mind-blowing[2]. Hyperlinks allow for much more information without c...

Re: APOD: Space Shuttle and Space Station... (2011 Jun 08)

Hello,

Here's a 3d image made from two of the images that were posted. It's not perfect but it shows the 3d aspect of ISS.

note: Move away from the screen to see "more" 3d.

Re: Photon's gravity

So, if photons cause gravity, how can the gravity propagate along the path of photon's propagation?

Photon's gravity

Hello dear APODers, I came with a thought experiment which I'm not sure how to answer, so I'm asking your help: Do photons cause gravity? I mean: If you create some very-very energetic photons (a beam of very energetic photons), will they attract matter? I bet that possible answers are "yes&quo...

Re: Double Slit Experiments I

Hello, First of all, thank you for the video series! You may find interesting this post: http://www.v13.gr/blog/?p=44 . It is a way to do the experiment yourself, just like I did after I looked at your double-slit videos, without using specialized equipment. In fact, you'll be able to see live the e...

Re: APOD Birthday Collage Submissions

Hello, I just show your images and I was impressed! :-) Thanks for sharing them! I'd really like to have some of them in great detail to be able to print them. I see that you have problems hosting them, so if you could create some high-resolutions versions I'm offering to host them in a universitiy ...

Re: Black Holes

Hello there, I've a question regarding black holes. It is said that light cannot escape from a black hole (by definition), but... Suppose that a black hole is a sphere (this doesn't actually matters a lot but it helps understanding), no matter what its size is. This means that all or most of the mas...

There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority. I get that when going to the URL for the lectures. Clicking continue to site seems to do so though. This is because the certificate is n...

I'm using Linux here and I wasn't able to view your videos after the direct links were removed from learnoutloud. So I'm now using a vmware machine running windows and iTunes to download them. I'll be glad to store them online and post the URL here but I need (a public) authorization for such an act...

If Michigan Tech doesn't have the capacity to host these files for all to download, then it must be hard to find an additional host elsewhere. I know my ISP would remove/block the files if the downloads were too many from my personal webspace. As I said in a previous post, I'm willing to host them ...

Frist of all, congratulations and thank you for your on-line videos! I'm just trying to catch up and I'm really sad that at the end, there will be just a finite number of them (i.e. not more that we can ever watch). Thanks !!!! Thanks for the positive feedback everyone! Here are some answers to ques...
