Re: APOD: Science Museum Hubble (2010 Oct 13)

I'd like to move it to one of the Lagrangian points in Earth/Moon orbit, where it would live in perpetuity - until a space rock hits it, that is.

Re: APOD: Happy People Dancing on Planet Earth (2010 Jul 25)

Just enjoy the ride with this APOD. That's what we do here on Planet Earth anyway, as we hurtle through the solar system / galaxy / universe / multiverse.

There - see how it relates to Astronomy?

Thanks to Robert and/or Jerry for posting it again.

I just have to say "Wow!" This is much more like a work of art than a simple pin-hole camera photograph. My hat's off to the photographer.

I would have had a hard time indeed waiting for 6 months to open that drink can.

Hi and welcome to Vicent. This is a great example of a processed digital image that winds up so dreamy-looking that it might be classified as a work of art. The original question does remain though. My screen is too small to see the entire large format picture at once, but it seems if I trace out th...

Re: APOD 22/9/2008

Am I the only person who has a problem with the following wording? "The bottom Sun band was taken during the winter solstice in 2007 December, when the Sun could not rise very high in the sky nor stay above the horizon very long. This lack of Sun caused winter. [/i]" Sure, during winter we...

Oh boy! ... I feel so sorry for you guys. Can't any of you take constructive criticism without getting touchy and defensive? Constructive criticism goes both ways, Paul. I loved Matt's dance video, and though it had been on the Internet for months, had not seen it until my one indulgence each day (...

That would be the Walmart Super Center. Maybe other places too. They worked fine.

Some suppliers of anaglyph cardboard glasses will send out a sample pair for free.

Stereo Sunday (APOD 10 Aug 2008)

Using my anaglyph glasses, I found the large format picture hard to look at. Maybe it's my tired old eyes. But the small picture that pops up when the main photo is clicked is a great stereo image. Thanks to the processors of the pictures. :)

Also - thanks for the memories.

I was going to make a comment on all of these comments, actually on the original, refreshingly different choice of the Dancing People video by APOD, but I don't think a single thing has been left unsaid. Well, except maybe this: "Dance as if no one is watching ..." Maybe some aliens are wa...
