You see, I'm not trying to argue global warming. I'm trying to argue the cause of global warming. I think humans have a much smaller impact on the world than currently projected. I think that it would be catastrophic if the ice shelves in Antarctica suddenly broke off and melted (although I'm a litt...

bmaone23, okay, but if you have are saying that the southern hemisphere isn't affected as much, then why are people so worried about the break off of antarctica?? http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2008/01/080114-antarctica-melting.html The global effect, must be then from the sun's rays since ...

well, i get the part about that industrialized nations, and everything, but while there is rapid decline in ice in the north, there are also glaciers that are actually advancing. I looked up the effect I was looking for and it was the urban effect. The urban heat island effect is basically microclim...

well, putting in my two cents :D i recently read a book (State of Fear by Michael Crichton, and before you write off what he says, most of his books use referances and are based on fact that he spins a plot around) that reveals that something called land usage heat(or something along those lines :) ...

discover recently did an issue on these theories. it was on the cyclic universe, the unverse as an arrow of time, and the universe as seperate Nows that make up everything, negating time. It was a very interesting article. http://discovermagazine.com/2008/apr/25-3-theories-that-might-blow-up-the-big...

why is everyone so convinced that centrifugal force doesn't exist? either way, its besides the point. Planets aren't locked into orbits by centrifugal force, its gravity. And someone used the example of the moon. I think the best theory of its creation so far was that it was created by a large meteo...

hey i'd like to put in my two cents as well :D i definitely agree to make at least an outpost on the moon before trying to send a manned expedition to some other planet. at least on the moon you can do many more experiment than were possible here on earth. Also i completely agree with Bmaone23. To s...

thanks
well i just want to know if it was possible in the future. i doubt we exactly have the kind of technology necessary right now. i was wondering now if maybe black holes are at absolute 0 and maybe if you could freeze something to absolute 0 then it would be possible for the atoms to then pretty much ...

Interstellar travel through density
I was wondering if this theory is at all possible or correct. Since a black hole is infinitely dense, and it creates a rip in space-time, would that mean that space is also infinitely dense or has a density greater than 0 but less than infinity. and if we could create some sort of ship that could ma...
