I love to see photos of these Gas Giants, but I can't help wondering how they came to be. Are they failed stars? Why does the gas not disperse?

How much Hydrogen is there in the universe? As stars use up their fuel and new stars are born in the nebulae. Surely there will come a time when there is not enough Hydrogen to create more stars. Colliding galaxies and their effect on inhabited planets.

I wonder how the gravitation of colliding galaxies would effect planets that are inhabited. There must be millions of them out there. Would a collision between galaxies destroy planets by pulling them away from their sun?
