I was talking about the one I think Asterisk used to feature.

There was a good Win taskbar tool that did this and could include the text displayed in overlay.

I just figure it isn't in APOD's interest to encourage desktop updates, as the traffic would shoot way up.

I would like APOD to feature a desktop background image downloader for Linux.

There are several scripts out there, but APOD should vet them out and recommend a solid one.

As many geeky types have done, I have made the switch to Linux and sorely miss APOD.

The Windows background updater prompted me to share and expose others regularly to APOD. Is there no super-geek that can port the Windows app over to Linux, and maybe even Mac? 8)
