I've been a bit out of the loop as of late and am just wondering if anyone knows what the latest is with string theory and the pursuit towards the grand unified theory. Just a bit curious and out of touch.

It has to do with the relative position of the Earth, Sun, and Moon. Here's a nice option for visualization if you think about a 3,4 right triangle (base is 3 units in length, height is 4 units in length. For this analogy to work you will have to think about looking down on all objects from above. P...

Re: Dark matter, dark energy

I'm wondering if the universe has different sized black holes, and that there may exist a multitude of very small black holes. The black holes we've discovered in the center of galaxies indicate the existance of black holes. Perhaps there are black holes of a smaller size spread through the univers...

I think the reason that kilometers are generally used in references found here is because kilometers are the unit of length in the si system, which is the system that is generally used in most scientific, specifically physics related, calculations. Since we're in America and we're basically the only...

BMAONE23, Complete destructive interference of photons doesn't have much to do with why the universe over all is a dark place with occasional pin pricks of light from stars and quasars and the such. The reason that the universe appears dark is simply because there is much more "empty space"...

Dark photons

I'll have to agree with the previous post. What you are refering to is dark matter, i.e., positron, antiproton, antineutron. Photons are not matter, they are energy which doesn't fall into the same category. Photons are only subject to constructive and destructive intereference and can only be cance...
