To me....looks like a whole FISH.... behind the dust lane is the rest of the body...in Ann's heart nebula image, it looks like it is swimming through it....

Evidently it has had a lot of gas disrupted maybe from brushes with M81...there does not seem to be much gas INSIDE M82...or it would show up in the image as it was specifically photographed. Not disputing the gas being pushed out... It is like the, other-wise, DUST LANES are being ripped off M82......

I wonder if there would be enough cavern collapses to account for it...

I wonder if tidal forces from Earth... as The Moon produces Tides on Earth... THAT is a real constant ever changing pressure... a transference of Energy.

Good image of the "Whale Galaxy"... clicking on the image, and looking at the larger image and the lower left area...it looks to me to be some sort of merger going on...I know there are many forms of Irregulars...some are Diffuse, and devoid of mass... but this does not look like the case....

Looking at it through 3D glasses actually shows a bit of effect on the gaseous nebula to the right...great image

Very interesting. I wonder what the arc and filaments are... they remind me of "Bow Shocks" from stars or something, but they look different, almost like lightning... and so many of them... a magnetic thing? they appear aligned....

Awesome...must have been a great sight. Tonight at sunset I was at a store, came out to the parking lot... my eye caught a very red glow...I thought it was a sign...like a red price sign for gas or something... it was the SUN!!!! I don't think I have ever seen it so very red...I was amazed... :---[=...

My recent shot of Saturn... I wonder if Titan is in the picture...it got a little over exposed in processing...but it brought out some features, and the rings look good.

I live in Salem, Oregon... it was a hotspot for the eclipse... here is my shot....

It was my first really viewed Solar Eclipse... had a good front yard view...totality is with my camcorder. The other is with my telescope and astronomy camera.
