hi Noe,
this image is terrific! congratulations!
...the answer to your question is: I simply have no clue,...but I guess even the ELT would be too small,...*g*

it is very well worth being an apod
hi guys, I had a hunch when I saw the APOD of today (22scd) that there might be some discussion going on...but I do not understand why it must be so emotional...? I consider myself to be a very serious astro-photographer and when I achieve a decent result, I am eager to get it published as an APOD, ...

hello everyone, I feel encouraged to present this image - hopefully as a candiadate for NASA APOD. It took me more than a month to acquire the essential data on the object, as weather is no reliable partner here at my place. in a bit more than 4 nights conditions were useful to image that PN: seeing...

hi Henk, I was not aware NASA APOD is intending to teach ... I just thought there must be lots of gorgeous images submitted to APOD people, that are sure worth being posted. it does not bother me at all, since this specific APOD of today is such a wonderful rendition of that very sky-area. it...

hi fellows, after a long time of harsh weather conditions, saturday night made it up to me with almost perfect transparency and terrific seeing! I had collected some data on this object before, but not enough to process a decent image. finally I got 9 hours of total exposure time and here is the res...

NGC4490+4485 interacting galaxies
hello deepsky enthusiasts, interacting galaxies are most fascinating objects on the night sky. I intended to image these pair of nice galaxies for a long time and waited until seeing was truly decent. Date: 10.2.2008- seeing 6-8/10; transp. 6-7/10 Scope: 9" TMB Apo f/9 CCD: SXV H16 L: 15x9 min;...

hi folks, this rarely imaged planetary nebula is located in taurus and it is not really bright... (-: I imaged it with 2 different CCDs: - luminance: SXVF H36; 9" tmb apo f/18 using a 2" 2* powermate (image scale 0.4 arc"/pix) 2 hours exp time -- 10 min subframes - color: SXVF M25C; f...

image submission - NGC 2392
hi friends, I have conducted an experiment with a monochromatic CCD and a barlow lens I attached to my f/9 system. seeing met my intentions to do some HR DSI that very night, luckily. curious enough to see, that aligning the luminance frames taken at f/18 was very hard to achieve, as r,g,b was taken...

hi friends of DSI, weather was nasty for more the last 2 months of 2007. but - everything ends and so does bad weather... I started M76 in an almost perfect night! 1.11.07 - we had terrific seeing and transpareny. (8)-9/10 ! but that night moon came up high in the sky so I had to stop after 2 hours ...

well, it is not a "fake"...but
...guys, I believe Yuri at al. did not do that on purpose, which the term "fake" would imply. I believe they just processed noise that was in their raws. sure - trhe effort they took is great, and lots of their planetary images are really outstanding, take a look on their recent mercury im...
